From my first consultation with Mr Lakdawala to my formal discharge I couldn't be happier. After my original consultant couldn't determine my actual injury Mr Lakdawala did his checks and then gave guidance as to next steps. I chose surgery and it has been a great success. I'm 7 weeks post op but have been walking with no limp for a number of weeks and making great progress. I would highly recommend his services.

Mr Lakdawala from the first meet showed care and understanding, he always went through everything in detail making sure we were both singing off the same sheet, I always felt he was taking in what I needed to tell him and made the experience as manageable as possible.

I had a total knee replacement 6 weeks ago by Mr Lakdawala. The operation has been a complete success and I was up and about the next day. I was walking independently pretty much straight away and by week 4 I was back to 10,000 steps per day. Mr Lakdawala is an amazing surgeon and the expert to go to with knee problems as he purely specialises in knees as opposed to others who try to cover many areas of orthopaedics. As a person, he is an absolute delight. I never feel rushed at appointments and he listens to what you are telling him . I do not feel foolish with my questions and I am completely at ease in his presence. Ayaz Lakdawala is a kind man with a fantastic sense of humour, which in my opinion as a retired nurse Tutor, is vital when working for the NHS. Thank You. You are the Bees' Knees. Mr Ayaz Lakdawala is a Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in knee and sports surgery, knee replacement and complex fractures. He carries out Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction, arthroscopic knee surgery and treats knee meniscal tears using meniscal repair and cartilage damage using regeneration procedures. He also uses a computer navigation programme called Ortho-pilot™ to help improve surgical accuracy whilst performing a knee replacement.
He graduated in Medicine in 1995 and then was involved in orthopaedic research for 18 months at the Royal London Hospital and Holly House Hospital. He also completed specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in the West Midlands at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Mr Lakdawala was then appointed the post of Senior Clinical Fellow at fellowship centres at King’s College Hospital in London, the Exeter Knee Reconstruction Unit at Royal Devon and the Exeter Hospital NHS Trust.
Mr Lakdawala also has an interest in teaching and is an examiner for the Warwick Medical School and he also trains junior doctors and senior registrars. He also published numerous journals and has presented his research in many international conferences.
He is the Regional Director for the Royal College of Surgeon of England, his roles include improving surgical standards, patient care and surgical training, and he is the Chairman for the professional affairs board in the West Midlands.
